Do you have winemaking experience or a degree within the winemaking industry? Would you like to increase your knowledge and look at the French vineyards at the same time? I know I certainly would. This may sound too good to be true but this is exactly what you can do at one of our winemaking programs in France.

We offer professional training at quality wineries in France, where you experience the whole process of winemaking from viticulture management, grapes, pressing, fermenting and cellar management. You will get to experience French culture and lifestyle, as well as the language, although most of the hosts can speak English.

France is often regarded as the winemaking country in the world. Wine is produced all across France, in quantities of seven to eight billion bottles per year. Many regions date their winemaking back to Roman times. The wines produced range from expensive high-end wines sold internationally to more modest wines usually only seen within France.

We offer placements in different regions of France, on high quality wineries who deal with different wines – just let us know your preference and we will do our best to match you with the perfect host.

We can also look into Conventional wineries, Organic wineries and Cooperative wineries. We want to help you further your knowledge as much as we can so feel free to ask us if you have any specific priorities and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

It is important that you some have viticulture and oenology experience and knowledge: bring enology education and experience from at least one grape harvest. You will be coming for harvest time which makes it necessary to be able to work on your own at times. Motivation is one of the most important requirements for a successful training. The more you put in, the more you will get out of this and it will benefit your ongoing skill training.

Because of the compulsory visa and work permit there is an age limit, which is from 19 to 30 years old. Unfortunately this restriction is out of our hands so if you are getting close to the upper age limit you may want to consider going sooner rather than later so you don’t miss out.

It is also a requirement to speak fluent English and if possible a minimum of basic French. This is mainly for social reasons and it will let you settle in a bit easier as well. We can arrange crash courses in French upon your arrival or assist with finding a French tutor before you depart.

You will either live with the family in the family house and have your own room and share facilities and meals with the family or you will live in an extra house or caravan and be responsible for your meals yourself. Living conditions will be arranged in advance and you will be advised of all the necessary details.

Like all famous wineries in Bordeaux, the grapes are harvested by hand for maintaining a high level of quality wines. We work with reputable, well known wineries and vineyards throughout France
